i really think kids should teach to us and not only the opposite.

i volunteer to something similiar to a summer club for children. lately my collegues have been running out of ideas for games for our kids.
so while my collegues all argued about complex strategies to force them to play– new games! strange games! let’s build strange and complex things and buy expansive new toys! – i was with a group of three children, aged 6/7. they completely ignored the new, expansive toys and instead found a broken red ball and a rope. i put the ball on as a nose, and they tied me up and made this new game in which i was a superhero half dog- half snail that had to escape from the rope to save the other children, with the power of my nose.
it had more success than ever, and soon there was more than fifteen children following us around.

it’s absurd how we adults long so much for happiness with complex roads and strategies when the solution is right there, under our noses. it’s as if we thought the process of searching our happiness was even more important than happiness itself. but the real road, the most successful road, is often the one that holds the more semplicity.
it is not in difficult games and technologies and philosopies that we must create a road towards success, it is there, in a broken ball and in a short, lost rope. in the simplicity and serendipity of things. and kids have been teaching that to us for so long and we just ignore them and tell them “oh, honey, you’re too little to understand”.
we search happiness in money, in frameworks of ephemeral value, while they so hard try to make us see that happiness is there– in a simple game, in a broken old toy, in a butterfly and in cold rain and in the smell of something familiar.
so please, next time you are sad and seeking for a solution, take a minute to go for a walk, and be happy for every broken ball and for every lost rope.
what you are looking for could be right there, under your eyes.

Happy Pansexuality Awareness Day!

hello, pansexual world! i’m a dragon. ~

sento un vecchietto che canta in dialetto alla sua madonnina
e quando la nebbia scompare in lui mi riconosco
come una goccia nel mare
io mi ritrovo al mio posto
